ByteDance, the Chinese parent company of TikTok, reportedly more than doubled its revenue last year to a whopping $34.3 billion, according to a report. In a memo to employees that shared the “ByteDance is not owned or controlled by the Chinese government. It is a private company,” TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew said during the March 23 hearing of the House Energy and Commerce Committee 64TrH.
