If you can login to account.arena.net, that confirms your email/password and you should be able to login through the launcher. However, there was apparently a problem with using special characters in the password, which would cause the launcher to fail to login, though this should have applied to your previous login if you were affected by this. Not sure if this belongs here or in 'Bugs', but my launcher no longer saves my Account Name nor password. At first it saved the password, but not the Account Name; now it blanks out both fields. Made sure 'My Account' was working; restarted computernot sure what else to try.

Browse to your C:\Users [yourusername]\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2. Right-Click and select Properites on the GFXSettings.Gw2.exe (32-bit client) or GFXSettings.Gw2-64.exe (64-bit client) and make sure the Read-Only attribute is NOT set and Click OK. Start GW2 and login, set your preference in the Options, close the Options window and re-open.

Hey guys, does any one know if/how i can extract the saved password from the launcher? The story is since sometime this week when I log in (pw saved) I get a promt telling me to change my password. Now the problem is that i reset it some time ago but i generated a random one and didnt write it down (i know stupid me). If you know your login information and want to update your password, you can do so whenever you'd like via the Guild Wars 2 account page: Log in to the account management page using your game credentials. Click Security. In the Credentials box, next to Password, hit Edit. Enter your old password and Closing the launcher and opening it again usually fixes this issue, with the Account Name and Password fields usually being auto filled correctly after 1 or 2 attempts when this bug occurs.
