FYI: unlike other games, GW2's login bonus is PROGRESSIVE. many games today go with that. bdo, genshin, warframe, you name it. ontop: battle passes with good free rewards. thats something gw2 doesn't have so far. wouldn't be surprised if that comes along at some point. -1.
A: No. The core Guild Wars 2 game is available to play for free, and purchasing the expansion includes the core world and all of its features! If you are using a free account, you can purchase the expansion to upgrade your Guild Wars 2 account and unlock all the core game has to offer. This even comes with a Max-Level Boost to level-up and
Guild Wars 2 can be a great alternative to World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV in 2023. Since GW2 does not have a subscription, which gives players more freedom. In the same way, Guild Wars 2 in 2023 can be also a great alternative to many free-to-play games such as Lost Ark and Black Desert Online.
New players have way too much to play through before they even need to consider thinking of maxing out all content the complete game has to offer. It is a way to discover if such game is for you or not. Yes, if you enjoy the game, as many many others do, you pay a small one-time fee and you get even deeper into the games content.
Guild Wars 2 is a MMORPG that takes place in the world of Tyria. Guild Wars 2 offers unique features that make it worth playing even ten years after its release. The game takes place 250 years after the events of Guild Wars: Nightfall and Eye of the North. In Guild Wars 2, the Elder Dragons have awoken and are wreaking havoc on the world.
Well if you mean if it's worth playing just f2p then kind of yes, you can play the full core game and play the core game story which will bring hours of play time and fun. But if you want to get into the endgame like Fractals and raids you should get the DLCs, especially for the Elite -Specialisations that empower all the core classes.
Its not free to play, it is more a long free trial without a time restriction and limited areas you can go to. Guild Wars 2 makes money with selling expansions, Living World Seasons (smaller expansions between normal expansions released in an episodic format) and selling skins and convenience items on the ingame store all while being not p2w but that depends on your definition of p2w probably.
Path of Fire (PoF) - $29.99. Living World Season 4 - 960 Gems for whole package. Living World Icebrood Saga (Aka Season 5) - 200 gems per episodic content missed. Currently at episode on episode 4. So let's say you get Path of Fire (PoF). That will include HoT and the base game which is most of the content for 29.99.
Gw2 is more about the story then the endgame gameplay like other MMOs. Boosting isn't really worth it imo, and skipping the last two expansions to go into the new one will just make the story not make sense and most of the goodies come from the last two expansions , gliding in hot and mounts in pof.
